Occasionally I place a ripped portion of a yellow post-it note in my organ music with the following notation: + 32' c basse
It usually appears right at the end of a piece, often just before the final chord, and is there to remind me to bring on one of the lowest sounds of the organ - a 32' pedal stop, in this case the contre basse.
But I have to tell you....
Every time I write that post-it note, somewhere from the recesses of my mind comes an image of a large fish. Specifically a 32-foot sea bass.
You know... 32' c basse.... 32-foot sea bass....
Clearly playing the organ messes with my brain.
