I suppose that's not really a distinguishing characteristic; after all, who in the world actually has a basement that is completely fit for public viewing? (If you are such a person, you might just want to stop reading now.)
Our basement is the holding pen for "things we don't need immediately but aren't getting rid of and would dearly love to get out of the boxes some day". This is why we don't watch TV, why I can't easily access my CDs or DVDs, and why our basement looks more like an obstacle course than anything else.
Ugh.
That is, until yesterday, when we finally made some progress on the disaster that is downstairs. Below are photos for evidence. And yes, there are still lots of boxes. Believe me - it was a LOT worse before. (Scary, eh?)
The "finished" portion of the basement. Notice that half of the room actually looks decent now!
This is the decent half!!
This used to be an entertainment center. We were going to use it, but when we attempted to move it, it basically fell apart. So... Buh-bye.
This is the "storage/laundry" side of the basement, now with shelves!!
More of the "storage/laundry" side. This is actually a huge improvement from what it looked like before!
Ta-da! We can use this door again!!
I guess that's what you get when two musicians get married. No cable TV, just lots of money in instruments (and instrument maintenance, and music, and....)!
